PLEASE.
PLEASE.
PLEASE.
We've all seen the trailer and want to watch it twenty thousand more times. I've never been more excited for a movie in my life, I may just have to slam my balls in a car door just to shock myself back into clarity.
Please, I implore you:
Help me figure out what this movie is about. Or I will die.
Die.
Dead.
Please.

Wow, myth, calm down. I do like this viral campaign this new JJ Abrams production has surrounding it, but its still six months away and I'm already a little sick of it.
Codenamed "Cloverfield", the flick is supposed to be a cheapie monster flick. The budget is supposedly around 30 mil, and only hand held cameras were used. Don't know much other than that.
The problem is that they released this too soon. They should have released the teaser in October with whatever Saw IV flick is playing. I think the anticipation would be sustained long enough in order for an impressive box office take, but I just don't think the mystery surrounding this movie will keep people caring six months from now.
Besides the movie comes out in January. That is a dump month. I mean this year we got Codenamed The Cleaner and Happily Never After during Jan. So that release dat isn't promising.
Yeah...jesus christ dude....simmer down. I loves me some JJ Abrams, but he is only producing it. And the guy did write Armageddon and Gone Fishin'. Not the best track record.
I was super excited at first, then every other fucking webpage decided to devote itself to Cloverfield, and now I'm in full backlash mode. I hate to be so predictable, but it's annoying already. We've seen what happens when viral marketing fails (Snakes on a Plane) and when it scores (Borat). Whether this has the stuff to make it to January, we'll have to wait and see.
As for the 30 mil budget, that actually seems kinda high considering this looks like Blair Witch, has no stars (save Mr. Abrams), and is being released in fucking January.
I'm still excited to see what Bad Robot has up its sleeve, but seriously dude....you need some meds or something....the trailor wasn't that fantastic.
So I finally saw this trailer that had Myth in such hysterics the other week.
Looks good.
Not much else you can really say. It looks like an interesting monster movie. I like that they're being mysterious about what it's about and who the creature is. I like that it's from JJ and another person who worked on "Lost."
I dislike the rumored names of "Cloverfield" or "Monstrous" though. And that release date is worrisome, but maybe they just realize it'll be nice counterprogramming to the uptight pre-Oscars season? Either that or it sucks...
Not something I'm super excited over, but definitely something to see down the line.
