Personally, I was not really anticipating the fourth Indiana Jones feature all that much. Having recently rewatched the series, Raiders is still the only one I have a lot of love for... and the age issue with Ford still lingers. Plus the guy hasn't made a real decent film since Air Force One back in the 90's.
But I gotta say, the trailer did just enough for me to actually get me anticipating the film. I loved the shot of Ford's shadow placing his iconic hat back on his head. Enjoyed the ever-so-brief appearance of Ray Winstone and Cate Blanchett. The one-line set-up Shia had for Ford seemed a little lame in my opinion but I did enjoy how the trailer showed just enough of the classic humor of the original series while cautiously poking fun at the age of its star without overdoing it.
In the end, I guess it did what any trailer should really... it sold me on the movie. I want to see more.
Meh...I'll probably watch it for the same reason I watched Pirates 3--to complete the series. However, it has a hell of a lot more promise that the aforementioned. It'll be a fun, no brainer and I just hope to god the "Indy's old" jokes don't get out of control and Cate Blanchett doesn't do anything to make me lose any of the enormous respect I have for her.
I think the trailer makes it look pretty promising. It'll serve it's purpose: adventurous, action-packed, wow-i-can't-believe-Ford can-pull-this-off-at-60! It reminds a little bit of Cage's National Treasure.
