Bad Idea of the Day (#2)

How do we feel about THIS lovely lady:

Being cast in the same film opposite THIS lovely man:

The film is Nine directed by Rob Marshall and co-written by Frederico Fellini. Thoughts, impressions, predictions? Oh and while we're at it how 'bout we take a gander at some of the other cast members, shall we?

Is it weird that I'm more upset that I will have to hear Kidman sing again? Its a musical and naturally Fergie is a singer (whether you think she is good or not is another story), so its probably more stunt casting, but I don't think she will have that big a role. Besides look what Chicago did for Queen Latifah. I just think they should just give Daniel Day Lewis another Oscar already cuz I already think he will deserve it.

Haha interesting take chachi. I on the other hand am fairly certain that it will be the strangest movie we've seen in a while (right after The Curious Case of Benjamin Button which just looks ridiculous...in a great way). I think I'll have to wait to see a trailer for final PRE-judgment. I just thought it was pretty funny that Fergalicious would be cast in such a potentially awesome film. Like, why not Mariah Carey? Or Gwen Stefani, or lord...I don't even know who else. J-LO! Haha, she needs a comeback vehicle if I ever saw one! Plus, she was Selena. Now I'm just rambling.

First off, any news of a new Daniel Day Lewis project is good news since the man at any given moment could inexplicably decide to go back to cobbling shoes together and require another visit from Martin Scorsese to drag him back to Hollywood.

Second, seeing Daniel Day Lewis sing will truly showcase that the man can do absolutely anything.

Third, Daniel Day Lewis playing a character named Guido is glorious.

As for Fergie, I really couldn’t care less about her casting. I’m assuming it will be a small role and I’ll hold out hope it’s not another Queen Latifah in Chicago where she ends up somehow shining and then we’re subjected to a half dozen Fergie films in the next few years.

And Chachi, yes, you’re quite insane for dreading Kidman’s singing more than that of Fergie’s. I know you’re not a fan of Moulin Rouge, but Kidman was fantastic in that film. Her best role since To Die For and maybe the best performance she’s ever given.

And Rebecca, I do recall a certain aforementioned Martin Scorsese giving a – admittedly small – role to Gwen Stefani in The Aviator. If the master can do it, why not the downright odd combination of a Fellini story, a Rob Marshall picture and a Fergalicious star?
